Electroacupuncture according to Voll:
Discovering the body’s energetic system
The Electroacupuncture according to Voll, also known as the EAV method, is a significant part of alternative and holistic medicine techniques to help determine the body’s health imbalances. Below is a more detailed look into this interesting and innovative approach used in many of today’s latest diagnostic devices to assist practitioners provide a detailed and accurate examination on their patients.
It was in 1958 that Dr. Reinhold Voll, a German doctor and inventor, developed the Electroacupuncture according to Voll (EAV) method based in the acupuncture principles. At the time, this invention was considered controversial as a diagnostic and treatment procedure used in alternative medicine. Today it has a growing acceptance throughout Europe and in the United States, especially by practitioners who specialize in holistic disciplines. Dr. Voll documented his studies over a decade in German hospitals prior to the final outcome that today is the EAV method. Following the application of acupuncture techniques to improve the patients overall health, he stated that along with the galvanic skin response capacity, it could be used to diagnose certain conditions and provide information about the body’s compatibility to medications and missing nutrients if tested on the right locations on the body.
The EAV method is used to assess the individual’s energy with a painless and minimal or non-invasive procedure using acupoints and a system of Meridians, a network of energy channels connected among each other and to parts of the body or organs. The electroacupuncture according to Voll is a big part of the Meridian Stress Assessment (MSA) which focuses on measuring the organs in the body that are balanced, weakened or stressed to produce a diagnostic and the following protocol by the practitioner.
In his studies, Dr. Voll saw that testing the electrical conductance at specific spots or acupoints on the body had a higher electrical flow than other body locations even with the skin’s natural resistance to electrical currents. In the modern devices used in this type of assessment such as the MSA, the machine comes with a specialized software that can even create a support protocol for the stressed or weakened organs along with the final results.
The Electroacupuncture according to Voll consists in the patient grabbing a negative electrode on his or her hand and the practitioner touching the body with the positive electrode. The EAV device generates a safe electric current onto the acupuncture needle that is in contact with the positive electrode.
This method is still open to help discover more details of the human body’s energetic system as a direct or complementary technique for any other sources of assessment.
May 2014 – I began doing biophoton therapy a few months ago and have had about 8 treatments. Some of these have been face to face and others “long distance.” We have worked on various issues from irritability, due to heavy stress, to bone and circulation problems. I noticed initial changes but I find the benefits continue to evolve. My energy level has increased; my stress and irritability has decreased. Several scars from surgery are softening and the redness fading. I find myself responding with greater calm to “triggers” and am more focused and centered.
I’m very grateful to my practitioner for her work in this field. I am impressed that she has dedicated herself to continuing to increase her knowledge to include the latest and most successful treatments in this and related fields.
I’m very grateful that she and biophoton therapy were recommended to me by a local doctor!

“If all the information required to control the body’s biochemical processes is in the light that the body emits, and if disturbances in that light disrupt biochemical processes and cause disease — as Dr. Popp claimed — then it must be possible to ‘examine’ the light and remove the disease. Then you return the ‘repaired’ light to the body. If it works, it will have enormous consequences for everything.”- Johan Boswinkel, circa 1982
